The Robot Service Business Agreement for Rehabilitation Support for the Disabled was entered by and among Gangneung-Wonju National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation (Director Shin Il-shik), Wonju City (Mayor Won Chang-muk), Hexar Humancare Co., Ltd. (CEO Han Chang-soo), Wonju Welfare Center for the Disabled (Director Jeong Jin-ae), and Yangup Thomas Welfare Center for the Disabled (Director Bae Ha-jeong) on Monday, June 21 at 3 p.m., at the investment consulting room on the 7th floor of Wonju City Hall.

They were selected for the 2021 Robot-utilized Benefit Support Project for the Socially Disadvantaged (Professor Park Byeong-sun, Department of Social Welfare, Research Director) hosted by the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency. They will be granted a total project cost of KRW 300 million (KRW 210 million from the government, KRW 90 million from Wonju City).

The five organizations plan to cooperate to help rehabilitation users of welfare centers for the disabled with the vitalization project of wearable robot service by building a robot service business network and promoting the development of customized robot services for the disabled through user monitoring.
